Training Philosophy

At Think Pawsitive Dog Training, LLC, we use only dog-friendly training methods.  This means that we focus on teaching dogs through positive reinforcement.  This type of training teaches your dog without force, pain or fear, and the side effects that can arise with use of those other methods.  It helps create a stronger bond between you and your dog and it WORKS!

We also Clicker Train.  Clicker training is a highly effective training method that uses both operant and classical conditioning procedures.

What is clicker training?
A clicker is a small  device that is used in dog training  to “mark” a behavior .  The reason we mark behaviors is because we want to reinforce them.  When a dog learns that a clicker  is marking behaviors that he will be reinforced for, he will want to keep performing those behaviors so he can continue to be reinforced.

What makes clicker training so effective?
Clicker training focuses on what the dog is doing right, which helps the dog to gain more confidence in performing behaviors.  It also gives immediate feedback which helps the dog to learn more rapidly.  All in all, clicker training is humane, effective and FUN!

Train the humane way!
